PACE Works!
PACE has been recognized as a “best practices model” by the Federal Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquen¬cy Prevention, the Child Welfare League of America and the National Council on Crime and Delinquency. One year after enrollment in PACE Center for Girls of Hillsborough, 91% of our graduates remained clear of criminal involvement.*
PACE Center for Girls, Inc., is a non-residential delin-quency prevention provider operating in 21 locations statewide, targeting the unique needs of girls 12 to 18 who are identified as dependent, truant, runaway, ungovernable, delinquent, and/ or in need of academic skills improvement.
PACE Center for Girls of Hillsborough County has been serving area girls in need since 1989 from its Temple Terrace Campus.
PACE accepts referrals from the juvenile justice system, the Department of Children and Families, school per¬sonnel, community services agencies, parents, family members, friends and self-referrals.
The program’s purpose is to intervene and prevent school withdrawal, juvenile delinquency, teen preg-nancy, substance abuse and welfare dependency. PACE programs provide the following services: academic education, individualized attention, a gender-specific life management curriculum (SPIRITED GIRLS!*), thera¬peutic support services, parental involvement, student volunteer service projects and transition follow-up services.
Every girl at PACE sets individual educational and social goals that are focused on earning a high school diploma or GED, re-entering public school, attending college, getting vocational training, joining the military or the entering the private workforce.
After program completion, PACE continues to monitor each girl’s educational and personal development with THREE years of follow-up case management.
Early intervention for those who are not yet in the juve¬nile justice system depends entirely on private funding. YOUR SUPPORT IS VITAL TO HELP AT-RISK GIRLS SUCCEED IN SCHOOL AND IN LIFE, EVEN BEFORE THEY BECOME INVOLVED IN THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM.
